Hello! I hope everyone is taking care in the heat!  We are keeping cool here in kindergarten.   Today’s themes were Splish splash and Science!

During science time we learned about different animals and studied about their different eating habits.   We talked about how they were classified in three main categories:  carnivores, herbivores and omnivores.   It didn’t take the kids long at all to understand this concept.   We talked about which animals went into each category and they got most of it correct!  We also discussed how most people are omnivores.   It was such a great lesson.

Hello!  It looks as though the rain has now stopped.  Maybe the start of real summer heat. 🌞

On Friday we finished our first week of summer school.  What a great week it was!

Our two themes on Friday were Ocean: fish and carnival.
For ocean theme we studied about different kinds of fish through videos and books.   All of the students really love fish. Especially colorful tropical fish. 🐠

For carnival we played games and did face painting!   One of the games we played was the “Amazing Ring Toss”.  That’s what Andy named it! 😁  It was super fun.   And because of having to wear masks, we couldn’t do face painting so we did arm painting!  We had a wonderful time!  - Starr ♡

“Octopus!”   ”Starfish!”   ”Whale!”と

元気よく答える子供達☺

work sheetも上手にマッチングできていました。

We had another great day at Summer school.   Today’s themes are Splish and splash and garden day!   It’s been rainy almost every day but we have been lucky enough to have a few clear hours of pool time.

During garden time,  we learned about the plant cycle.  After that we started to grow beans in a bag.  Each kid put a damp paper towel in a bag with two beans to see if we can get them to sprout.  We put them in the window so we can watch their progress.  We will keep you updated on how they grow!

Hello from kindergarten!   We had another fun day during summer school.  Today’s themes were craft and science. For craft time we made Ocean Process Art!  The students painted their paper in different shades of blue, then decorated fish in rainbow colors.  We finished the project with glitter because we all love sparkly fish!

For science,  we tried to grow a rainbow!  We used washable markers to color the ends of a paper towel.  We then took two cups of water and placed one end of the paper towel in each of the cups.  We hoped the colors would climb up the paper towel and complete our rainbow.  Everyone was so excited as we watched the rainbow “grow”!   It was a great day with lots of fun!  See you next time.  -Starr♡
