Kindergarten – K3

Good morning! 🌞

This month in kindergarten we are learning about Ancient Egypt.  This theme is always fun for the students and each year we learn new fascinating things!

The K3 class was exploring pyramids and how they were formed.  We utilized play doh to make our own pyramids.  We found it was a little difficult to make the perfect pyramid and one of my students said it was so amazing how the Egyptians were able to make the big ones in Egypt!

We also learned about hieroglyphics. Each letter represented by a different symbol.  We loved figuring out our own names.  The kids did an excellent job!  We would have done well in Ancient Egypt!😁   -Starr♡

Kindergarten ~ K2

Hello all!

We are stepping up our learning in K2!

Recently we have been going over many language skills and recognition.  One of the recent activities had been learning the difference between letters and words.  This can be a bit confusing at first.  Also we have been sorting two and three letter words while incorporating some of our sight words.

To start off the lesson, Max went over different examples on the white board.  He next asked kids to tell him different examples as well.  After they had a lot of practice, the students worked on sorting activity.

Even though this can be challenging, the k2 class is doing so well.  Wonderful work everyone!  - Starr♡

Kindergarten – K1

Hello everyone!  It’s time to check in on our K1 kindergarten class!

We have started back our regular lessons now that summer school is over.  The students in K1 have shown so much progress over the few months since they’ve joined kindergarten.   I’m pleasantly surprised at how fast they are mastering new skills.

Today’s math lesson was number matching.  Before they started their worksheets,  some students went to the whiteboard with Andy to match the numbers to the correct item.  Afterwards they started their worksheet.   The students had to count how many dots each bus had and glue the correct number beside it.  Of course this involved many skills such as counting and cutting and pasting!  The students were able to complete their work wonderfully!  Well done K1!  - Starr ♡

Kindergarten 🌟

We are having a blast in kinder.  🌟

Recently we studied about the coral reef.  Most of the kids knew about the coral reef from watching the movie “Nemo”.  We enjoyed learning about the different creatures that live there.  A lot of the answers were clownfish. 😁

Another day we learned about the African safari.  There were many different favorites!  Some kids love elephants, others love zebras!  But the winning favorite was lions!  So we decided to make lion masks!  We have a class full of adorable lions!  Rawr!! ❤  - Starr♡

Kindergarten ~ Science

Summer is finally ending and we are welcoming fall here at Victoria International.  The weather is still really warm but it does feel like a change is coming. 🍂🍁

In Kindergarten we have different special activities each day.  One of our recent science activities was “Sink or Float.”

The students always love this activity.  Each time we try to find new items to test out.   Part of the fun is looking for items.   To make it even more special, we used an inflatable pool for the sinking or floating.  All of the students were so excited and thought it was really funny to use a pool! 😁

Each student tested a different item and we held a vote over who thought the item would sink or float.  Some of the results were surprising!   It was a lot of fun.  Great job kinder kids! - Starr♡
